not much longer left...

I know I have not updated much lately. I have not really had the time to do it. Plus, and I know this will come as a shock to many of you, I do not really know what to say. Not much has changed.

The only thing people keep asking me is how is the food, and have I found a girl yet? To the first question. The food is good. We have it everyday so I am sort of tired of it. The hotel food is not that bad but it is very very expensive. I try to eat outside of the hotel as much as I can but that food does not always taste as good. However, when my family members make real, authentic Indian food, then....well...I am in heaven. My tounge is still happy from the meal I had on Sunday. However, I still want a Chick-Fil-A sandwhich really bad, along with that mustard bbq sauce they have.

As for the second question. Why is everyone so concerend with me finding a girl? Just because I am of Indian decent and I am in India, I am going to find a girl? I mean, one girl has caught my eye, but I am still young, only 24. I have plenty of time before I need to be worrying about all that jazz. Plus, I don't think said girl is diggin on me so not much I can do. But still, why is everyone on my case? It's like my mother got a hold of everyone who works for the bank and told them to keep bugging me about getting married. Besides I can't get married till after I get my tattoo and buy my motorcycle. :-)

Anyway. Like I said. I have nothing else to say.

UPDATE
Someone asked me if I don't like India and Indians. This is not the case. I have nothing against India or Indians. In fact, India is a beautiful country with beautiful people who have a will to survive that surpasses most Americans. Sure, the country is dirty and poor but it has culture that is amazing.
The people are wonderful. Very nice and very sweet. They are very caring and will go out of their way to help you out. Sure, large groups of Indians act differntly then large groups of Americans, but there are 1 billion people here, in a space half the size of USA so it makes sense that they are going to act differently.
I did not intend to imply that I did not like India or Indians. Matter of fact, I intend to return to India, on my own, in the future. And I have made some Indian friends out here that I would like to see again. Especially the pretty one :-).
Sorry if anyone got upset or insulted about what they THOUGHT I was saying.

The Bank sent me to prison...

The thought of staying in a hotel was wonderful when I first heard it. I mean, they clean my room, they do my laundry. How bad could it be?

However, this hotel has become a prison. You can't open the door for yourself without someone from the hotel jumping in to help. The guys who clean the room do a good job but in the process they move everything of mine around. The food is starting to taste like rubber (or maybe it always tasted like rubber and the intoxication of being in a nice hotel smothered the flavor earlier). The soap bars are wrapped in plastic thats impossible to un-wrap.

The hotel staff knows we work nights, so they know we are sleeping during the day, yet they insist on making all sorts of loud noises right next to our rooms. They wake us up to ask the same question over and over again. I didn't want fruits the first day. I didn't want fruits yesterday. And I DON'T WANT FRUITS TODAY, DAGNABIT!!!

Going from my room to the front door takes an hour because everyone who works at the hotel feels the need to stop you and ask a billion questions like how I am doing and how I like my stay.

If you can't tell, I miss home and I want to come back to America. I want my bed. I want my house. I want my toilet. I actually MISS cleaning my house and doing my own laundry and, if my mom asks you didn't hear this from me, but I actually miss making my own bed.

Only one more month left. Can't wait to come home.

On a side note, I just saw the weirdest thing. I was downstairs eating lunch and there was a lady sitting next to me. I don't know where she is from but if I had to guess I would say Germany or Switzerland. No no, that is not the weird thing. I am getting to it..jeez, hold your horses (I wonder how that expression came to be).

Well she orders a chicken sandwich with fries. She emphasise that she wants lettuce on the sandwich and a semi-cooked egg on it too. Well after the sandwich arrives she manages to eat every fry, one at a time, with her knife and fork. Then she uses her knife and fork to take the top bread off the sandwich, she pulls the egg off the sandwich and pulls the lettuce off the sandwich. Then she uses the knife to put the bread back on the sandwich. Then she very carefully, and what appeared to be very painfully, ate the sandwich with her knife and fork. When she was done all she had left was egg and lettuce. She then put her knife and fork down, grabbed the egg with her hands and dug in. Keep in mind the egg was semi-cooked so it was dripping all over the place. She licked her fingers and left. She didn't even eat the lettuce. Why would she order lettuce if she wasn't going to eat it? And why on earth would she eat a sandwich with a knife and fork and then eat the egg with her hands?

And to think, the world says America is full of crazy people.

delays....

To everyone who actually wants to read this blog, I am sorry it was locked. A while ago some idiot spammed the blog with a bunch of comments that were, lets just say, not work safe.

I decided to lock the blog until I had time to fix it. That however took a long time because I have not had much free time. Between work at work and work at the hotel and sleep, I am not left with a lot of free time.

Plus I have been sick pretty much every day for the last few weeks. I can't stop coughing. I stopped coughing up blood but then it came back. I saw a doctor and he said my throat looks fine now, but if the blood comes back I should get an x-ray. Hopefully the blood won't come back. But the cough is still there.

And without getting all nasty, even though I was born in India, this Indian food is just not making my stomach happy. To top that off, I don't get to eat very often. Since I sleep during the day I can't eat breakfast. I eat lunch right before going to work but then at work I have to eat the crap they have right near the building since I don't have a lot of time to go anywhere. The food is okay if you eat it once, maybe twice, but after eating it every day, my stomach hates me. It is like eating the fattiest, unhealthiest sandwich from McDonalds everyday for 2 months. I want a Chick-Fil-A sandwich SOOO BAD! And a soft, chewy chocolate chip cookie. The cookies they have here are severily under par.

As for updates, we have not been up to much. Still workin too much. All four of us are ready to come home. We all miss our cars. We try to go shopping on weekends but after catching up on sleep, we aren't left with a lot of time. Oh well, I can shop when I come home.

I might as well become a vampire...

To all of you who think that we are here in India just having a lot of fun, you are clearly mistaken. During the week we don't get much time. I am not sure about the other guys, but I wake up for work around 12:00 PM. Go to the gym for an hour, then get ready and eat lunch. By the time I am done with that, we have to head to work. We work from 4:30 PM to 1:30 AM the next day. By the time we get back to the hotel it is 2:00 AM. At this time nothing is open so the only option we have for food is the late night menu, which I think the four of us will agree on, sucks. By this time it is 3:00 AM and there is not much else to do, and since I don't like going to bed right after eating, I hit the gym for an hour. Then I take a shower and get into bed by 5 AM so I can get 7 hours of sleep.

So whoever thinks all we do is have fun, we don't. These odd hours don't leave much room for us to have fun on weekdays.

Hopefully I will be feeling better by tomorrow. I have not been feeling well the last few days, but someone at work gave me some medicine to try so hopefully it will work.

Other then the busy schedule, work is going well. I am not sure how much detail I can actually divulge about work so that is all I will say.

Culture shock...

Before I came here I knew the cultural differences would be vast, but I did not realize how vast. Today at work I was talking to the guys and we talked about me and some of my personality traits that don't jive with the Indian life style. I didn't do anything to make any of them upset or mad (at least I do not think I did), but they were telling me how some of the stuff I did they were not accustomed too.

I am going to try harder to tone it down. I may have not upset anyone yet, but with my luck it is bound to happen.

Everything has been going really well here. The team has been learning very well and they are very eager to learn some more. It is like they are milking me for as much information they can possibly get. By the time I leave here in three months my brain will be dry from all the squeezing they are doing. :-)

We have not gotten sick any more which is good. Mo and I have decided to be a little more ballsy with the food we eat because we figure our stomachs are now used to the food so we should be okay. Osama and Rodel do not feel the same way. I have been eating the free food work provides for the employees and I have not noticed any problems.....YET...knock on wood.

We come back from work really late and nothing is open and I get hungry so I have been ordering room service every day. Today, five minutes after I get back I get a call from the hotel people and they ask me if I am ready to have my food brought up. I didn't even order it and they just knew. How cool is that?

I have nothing else to say....shocking, I know.
